A Year With My Camera is a foundation course for photography beginners. Lessons are emailed for free or can be access via the app for a subscription fee. Additionally there is a huge library of resources and information available on the website to explore.
A free resource of short lessons and games that support the national curriculum from early years to GCSE. They have an informative lesson on photography that covers all aspects such as: types of photography, composition, viewpoint, leading lines, focus, lighting, black & white, digital manipulation and experimenting with images.
BBC Sounds has a series of episodes interviewing photography masters explaining their craft. Listen in and hear about seascapes, still life, fashion, sports, nature, landscape and royal photography.
£2 Tuition Hub offers live and recorded lessons in a wide range of subjects. Lessons cost £2 and are available in half termly blocks. They have a number of photography courses aimed at 8+ or 12+
Sharp Shots Photography Club offers photography courses for age 7+, beginners to advanced and they also offer Duke of Edinburgh photography skills courses. Additionally they have a monthly photography competition and a YouTube channel giving peeks into their courses and handy photography tips.
Skill Share is a subscription based platform offering creative video tutorials. There is a huge library of photography courses covering all aspects of the subject. All of the high quality videos are available to watch as soon as the subscription starts and there are no adverts.
Domestika offers a catalogue of creative courses including a large number in Photography. These include the basics of camera use, styling, colour, lighting and different types of photography such as portraits, pets, travel, nature and street photography.
With Technology Triumphs you can enrol in a number of distance learning courses including Level 1 Photography. The course is aimed at 10+ though the age is purely a guide. Learners can learn at their own pace using workbooks and pre-filmed videos.
Subscribe to Adobe to gain access to their suite of editing software including photoshop. Some of their subscriptions also include storage for you growing portfolio of photographs.
Snapseed is a photo editing app. Download and use it for free via the website or app store. The app has a range of features to ensure your photograph is adjusted exactly how you want it.
Click it up a Notch has a blog packed full of useful photography tips from the basics to more advanced techniques. Such as shooting stunning landscapes, reflections, summer holiday photos, candid photos, street photography and taking pictures in low light. There are also some photography challenges and a page on how to introduce and support children learning photography.
