Oxfam

Oxfam have produced this information booklet about sustainable fashion.  It covers subjects such as fast fashion and the impact on the environment, it has cross curricular activity ideas, resource list and instructions on making bunting.

repair what you wear

Repair What You Wear offers tutorials in all sorts of repair techniques, for example: ladder stitch, back stitch, sewing buttons and mending hems. There are also a number of educational resources to explore.

In this lesson BBC Bitesize asks 'How can Fashion be better for the planet?'. Watch the videos and read the information panels to find out.

Teachwire

Teachwire gives access to a vast collection of teaching resources including a number of fashion design lesson plans. A free account is required to be set up.

Fashion museum Bath

The Fashion Museum Bath is relocating to new premises however there is still plenty to explore on their website. From videos to fashion activities there is a lot of inspiration to be had.

learnlaughplay

LearnLaughPlay offer weekly interactive classes for ages 3-16. They offer a very wide range of classes such as English, animal care, Minecraft club, quantum physics, classics, history, geography, maths, fashion design and becoming an artist. There is a lot to explore with 160 different lessons to choose from on their timetable. Classes cost £3 per week.

Harbor and Sprout

Harbor & Sprout have an expansive range of topics as unit studies and activity packs for KS1, KS2 and KS3. They have a textiles and fashion unit study aimed at age up to 12 years.

£2 tuition hub

£2 Tuition Hub offers live and recorded lessons in a wide range of subjects including a series of classes on Fashion Design.

outschool

Outschool offers a wide selection of classes on fashion and fashion design. It is American based and some classes are one offs whereas others are a course. The classes are aimed at different age bands from 5-18.

PlanBee

PlanBee offers a series of 6 lessons in fashion and textiles. The lessons cover cotton manufacture, how textiles are used and the design process in the fashion industry. Additionally, learners will design, cut and sew their own draw string bag. Aimed at KS2.

Learning247

Learning 247 has a catalogue of courses available to do online including a Fashion Design Diploma. There are no entry requirements, the course is divided into 10 modules and is expected to take around 16 hours. Modules cover the history of fashion, principles, textiles, garment construction and starting your own fashion business.

Domestika

Domestika offers a catalogue of creative courses including a large number on Fashion. These include pattern making techniques, crochet, hand embroidery, using adobe illustrator for fashion design, pattern construction and creating your own fashion brand.

The Fashion and Textile Museum has exhibitions and displays dedicated to contemporary fashion and textile design. In addition they run regular workshops on set dates. These may be single or multi day courses. Check their website for what is coming up.
